Arhus is the most important port of Denmark and the second largest city with almost 300,000 inhabitants. Amongst all the large cities in Scandinavia, Arhus is considered to be the oldest and is popularly known as the ‘City of Smiles’.
It has a typically temperate marine climate with unpredictable showers throughout the year. June, July and August are the summer months; they are also the most popular time for the tourists with temperatures hovering around a pleasant 17°C. Arhus is accosted by the chilling coastal winds throughout the year and in February the temperatures drop to almost 0°C.
As the largest industrial harbour of Denmark, it plays a major role in the trade of agricultural products, minerals etc.
