The Spanish Steps are a set of steps in Rome, Italy and were named after a local 17th century ambassador’s residence. The steps are a blend of straight flights, curves, terraces, vistas covered with enormous pots of lounging sightseers and flowers. The views from the top of the stairs are superb. The stairways of 138 steps were built with French diplomat Etienne Gueffier ’ s donated funds of 20,000 scudi in 1723-1725.
