Tourist guide Livigno

Livigno town is situated in the Sondrio province in Lombardia region, Italy. It is located in a valley which is 25 kilometers long. Its first settlers were shepherds during the middle ages.

The village of Livigno and its culture are deeply rooted in a range of traditions. May 14th is a day totally dedicated to cleaning of meadows and woods. Expo Alps is held from 30th May to 2nd of June which is rather interesting to attend.

Livigno has two seasons, summer and winter which are interrupted by two months of transition in May and October. During winter, from November to April, the landscape is covered with dry and glittering blanket of snow. And during summer, from June to September, the landscape is different, with thick green grasses with colored flowers.

It is 1,816 meters above sea level and its main river is known as “Aqua Granda”.

Lastly recorded population estimates show the population in 2004 as 5,326 inhabitants.
